What age can my child start All-Star cheer?
We welcome athletes starting as young as 3 to 4 years old in our Tiny Novice/Exhibition programs! These introductory teams focus on building basic motor skills, coordination, and confidence in a fun, low-pressure environment. For our competitive All-Star teams, we have divisions for athletes all the way up through age 18. There is a place for every age and skill level!
Is All-Star cheerleading open to both boys and girls?
Absolutely! All-Star cheerleading is a fully co-ed sport. Boys play a massive role in competitive cheerleading, especially when it comes to high-flying stunts, tumbling, and pyramids. We love welcoming both male and female athletes to the Driven Athletics family and offer co-ed team opportunities across various age groups.
My child has never cheered or tumbled before. Can they still join a team?
Yes, 100%! One of the best things about All-Star cheer is that no prior experience is required to get started. During our placement process, we evaluate every athlete's current skills and place them on a team where they will be both safe and successful. We pride ourselves on teaching the fundamentals from the ground up, so beginners are always welcome!
How do team placements work? Will my child be "cut" from a team?
At Driven Athletics, everyone makes a team! We do not have traditional "tryouts" where athletes are cut or turned away. Instead, we hold a placement process where our coaches evaluate each athlete's current tumbling, stunting, and jumps. This allows us to place your child on the specific team where they will be safest, feel most confident, and have the greatest opportunity to succeed and grow.
